Track Your Drop Order — How to Stay Updated
Whether you’re ordering audiophile gear, custom keyboards, or limited-edition accessories, Drop makes it easy to follow your order through production, packaging, and shipping. Since many products on Drop are made to order or ship in limited batches, tracking your delivery is important, and often more nuanced than typical online retailers.
You can track your Drop order with a tracking number, directly from your Drop account, or through a third-party tool like PackyApp — even if you never received a confirmation email.
This guide walks you through the process and answers the most common questions customers face.
How to Track a Drop Order
Using a tracking number
When your order ships, Drop will send you a shipping confirmation email with a tracking number and carrier name. This is the easiest way to track your delivery.
To use it:
- Open the shipping confirmation email from Drop.
- Copy the tracking number listed in the body of the message.
- Paste it into the official tracking page of the assigned shipping carrier (e.g., FedEx, USPS, DHL).
- You’ll see the most recent updates, estimated delivery date, and current location.
If your order is part of a group buy or preorder, the tracking number will only be generated once the product has been manufactured and packed for shipment.
Through your Drop account
If you don’t have the tracking number handy, you can always find it inside your account:
- Go to drop.com and sign in.
- Click on your profile icon, then go to Transactions.
- Select the relevant order.
- Under the “Shipment” section, you’ll see the tracking number and carrier once your order has shipped.
From here, you can click directly to the tracking page or copy the number for use on PackyApp or carrier websites.
Using PackyApp (third-party tracking tool)
If you shop across multiple stores or want a centralized place for all shipments, PackyApp is a useful option.
To track Drop orders with PackyApp:
- Visit packyapp.com.
- Paste your Drop tracking number into the search bar.
- Click “Track” to view the real-time delivery status.
- You can create an account to get push notifications or monitor multiple orders at once.
This is especially helpful when your package changes hands between carriers (for example, DHL handing off to USPS for final delivery).
Drop Tracking Number Format
The format of your tracking number depends on the carrier Drop uses. Here are common examples:
| Carrier | Example Tracking Number | Format Description |
|---|---|---|
| USPS | 9400 1000 0000 0000 0000 00 | 20–22 digits, starts with 94 |
| FedEx | 612999999999 | 12-digit numeric code |
| DHL | 00340434161012345678 | 18-digit numeric, used for international |
| UPS | 1Z12345E0205271688 | Starts with “1Z”, 18 characters total |
If your number doesn’t match any of these, verify the carrier or check your Drop account.
Carriers Used by Drop
Drop works with several major delivery companies. The one assigned to your package depends on product size, destination, and shipping method:
- USPS – Used for smaller or lightweight domestic deliveries
- FedEx – Standard or express shipping, especially for large items
- UPS – Occasionally used for bulkier orders or international deliveries
- DHL – Common for international shipping (Europe, Asia, etc.)
For some international orders, a global courier like DHL may handle the package initially before handing it off to a local postal service for final delivery.
Order Delivery Statuses
Drop shipments go through several tracking stages, depending on their journey. Here's what each status typically means:
| Status | Description | Action Needed? |
|---|---|---|
| Label Created | Drop printed a label, but the package hasn’t shipped yet | Wait 1–2 days |
| Picked Up | Carrier has the parcel, and it’s entering the system | No |
| In Transit | The package is moving between hubs or facilities | No |
| Out for Delivery | The courier is delivering today | Be available to receive |
| Delivered | The package is marked as delivered to your address | Check the delivery spot |
| Exception / Delay | There’s a delay or issue (e.g., customs, incorrect address) | Investigate |
| Returned to Sender | Delivery failed, and the package is going back | Contact Drop |
Some statuses — especially “In Transit” — may last for several days if your package is traveling long distances or crossing borders.
Common Issues & FAQs
My tracking number isn’t working — what now?
It can take 24–48 hours after shipment for the number to become active. If it still doesn’t show up, check your Drop account or contact support.
How long does drop-shipping take?
In-stock items: Usually 3–7 business days in the U.S.
Preorders or group buys: Fulfillment can take several weeks, depending on production.
International orders: 7–21 business days, depending on region and customs clearance.
Why is my order delayed or stuck in “Label Created”?
If you preordered a product or joined a group drop, the item may still be in production. Check your Drop account under the item for shipping timelines.
What if my package says “Delivered” but I never got it?
Look around your property, mailroom, or apartment front desk.
Ask neighbors if they received it by mistake.
If nothing turns up, reach out to the carrier and then contact Drop support.
Can I change my shipping address after placing the order?
Only within a short window before the item ships. If your product has already left the warehouse, the address cannot be changed.
